Why Ride With Us?

This year, more than 35,000 people will participate in March of Dimes Bikers for Babies rides across the country. The March of Dimes has had the generous support of the motorcycle community since 1994 when the first Bikers for Babies® benefit ride took place in Atlanta.

Every year in West Virginia 20,470 Babies are born; 2,480 Babies are born prematurely; and 620 Babies are born with birth defects.  Every baby receives a polio vaccine developed with funding by the March of Dimes.  Each year about 80 babies in West Virginia receive lifesaving surfactant therapy developed with funding by the March of Dimes. We funded the development of 4 screening tests and advocated for newborn screening for all babies.

The average medical cost for a healthy baby is $4,320 while the average medical cost for a premature baby is $55,025. Preventing premature birth in West Virginia could mean an annual savings up to $128 million.

Do more to support babies’ health by collecting donations from family and friends before the ride.

The dollars you raise fund:

  • Lifesaving medical research
  • Health education for moms-to-be
  • Support for families in newborn intensive care
  • Programs in your community and across the country
  • Ride with thousands of compassionate motorcyclists.

Raise money, get on your bike and ride!

Help us improve the lives of all babies.
